Social Scaleups – Attracting investment is a key challenge

Canada, Australia and France have been named as the top three countries for social business leaders in the Thomson Reuters Foundation’s global survey. More than four out of five experts polled said social entrepreneurship was gaining momentum in their countries, with more youth interest in working for businesses that do good. Attracting investment is a key challenge (ScaleUp Institute report also highlights). Bonnie Chiu, a social entrepreneur, is quoted: “Traditional businesses just need to prove that they are financially sound, traditional charities just need to prove that they are generating social impact – but social enterprises need to do both.”
